Salem College Republicans: Upcoming Plans

By Nicole Winks

Salem College Republicans will attend two conferences to make students aware of the current political movement and of the Republican Party.   These conferences are the North Carolina Women’s Leadership Summit in Raleigh and the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C.

Salem College has various political organizations on its campus, including the Salem College Republicans, which aims to train and educate Salem students to be aware of historic and current political activities.

It provides opportunities for Salem students to contribute to the betterment of not only Salem College, but also to the Republican Party.  The organization also aims to enhance student involvement in conservative movements.

Some of the planned on-campus events will focus on abortion and gun rights.  The organization will have on campus voter registration and debate viewing parties for the upcoming presidential election.  Announcements will be made as more events are planned and confirmed.  The College Republicans would like the students of Salem College to know that they encourage all political views and do not discriminate against those who have differing viewpoints.
