Hello Dears,
As you all know, it is midterm time again and stress levels are at an all-time high for the semester. My recommendation to handle the stress is to treat yourself and consider purchasing a new sex toy! A little self-loving is one of the best ways to combat stress. What better way to do that than treating yourself– with a brand new sex toy?
Purchasing a sex toy can seem like a daunting task, especially if you’ve never purchased one before. Only 44% of women between the ages of 18 and 60 have used sex toys. If you are part of the group that is interested in exploring the world of sex toys but have no idea where to start, here are some tips:
- First and most importantly have fun, relax and don’t judge yourself. You might feel awkward during the process of searching for the right sex toy but you have no reason to be ashamed.
- Do your research! There are a lot of different options out there from vibrators, dildos, couples toys, anal toys and more. Not only do you first need to figure out what you are looking for, but I also recommend reading reviews online before purchasing.
- If possible go to a physical store and don’t be afraid to ask questions. The people who work in stores that sell sex toys are going to be knowledgeable about the subject and will not judge you for having questions about how the toys work or what kind of preferences other people have.
- If it is your first time and you are a little intimidated, consider trying a small, simple toy first. A small bullet vibrator can go a long way and some people even find that clitoral stimulation is more important to achieving an orgasm than penetration.
Of course, keep in mind that sex toys are not necessary to a happy and healthy sex life. Dr. Ava Cadell, certified sex counselor and author of NeuroLoveology compares sex toys to dessert: “When you go out to a restaurant, dessert is not necessary, but it sure is yummy when you have it.” Whether you choose to make a purchase or not, consider having a little fun looking into some of the options out there for those “yummy enhancements” to a healthy sex life.
XOXO,
Sexy Suzy
